Mia's first Santa experience

This post is mostly for Grandma and Grandpa so that they can laugh at it since my brothers and I always got pictures with Santa every year. Well, here's Mia's first picture with Santa...it looks like she was scared, but she wasn't really. She just wanted to get off Santa's lap so that she could run around with the other kids. Oh, and I've included a picture of Brian on Santa's lap, too. He has a whole list of things that he wants, but we'll see if he's been naughty or nice...
Mia, the best present ever!!!!!!
Here's how Mia's hair started out that night...I even put glitter in it!!! Then it all fell apart with the all the running she did that night (as seen in the Santa picture.)

And here's Mia the next Sunday ready for church...she's such a little girl. She's doing a modeling pose for us! Who could ever get mad at this sweet pea, even if she just spilled chocolate milk all over our couch (thank goodness for slip covers!)

My baby is 18 months old and in nursery **SOB**

So, Mia turned 18 months old a couple of weeks ago and is now in nursery. She was really clingy the first couple of weeks but did o.k. because I stayed in nursery for the whole time. Then, last week, she did better and was a little more adventurous. I was released from Young Womens a couple of months ago and have been in the nursery until the New Year when I start my new mystery calling!!! So Mia has had the chance to enjoy Mommy in nursery until then. Brian brought his camera to capture the event so here's Mia on her first official day of nursery! What a big girl! (but Mommy sure was a cry baby!)Here's baby girl on her actual 18 month birthday. Daddy had already gone to bed and Mia had just had her bath and had her jammies on, but wanted to play with her nativity set under the Christmas tree for just a little longer.
Here she is putting the shepherds in the inn (actually on the bunk beds on the top of the inn)...the cows and sheep got to go on the inside of the inn, though.
Here's Mia this past weekend...she loves her nativity set so much and plays with it all the time. This night, she decided she wanted to put all the people and animals in her shirt and was walking around with this gigantic, lumpy belly. When we grabbed the camera and snapped a photo, she gave us this crazy-eyed look! Here she is at nap time...holding Mary from her nativity set and, of course, her favorite baby. Mary and baby Jesus joined Mia for bathtime a couple nights ago, too. Mia is a little confused that baby Jesus has the same name as the Jesus that is hanging on our wall...she points at the picture on the wall and says "Jesus!" but when I show her baby Jesus and say "look Mia, it is baby Jesus" she gives me a look like "are you crazy Mommy? The man on the wall is Jesus." It is fun to see them try to figure things out. (Oh, and don't look at the binky...we got her off of it for several months and then she found one in her toy box and got hooked again. We're working on it ;) )

We've gotten lots of snow here in Omaha and clinic was actually cancelled today so I've been stranded at home with 2-3 foot tall snow drifts blocking our garage. Brian barely made it to work this morning! Gotta love the midwest!
